Models offered in Natural Gas:

T680 (available in CNG and LNG)

The fuel-saving aerodynamic shape of the T680 is an appealing choice for customers looking for a natural gas truck. The Kenworth T680 day cab and 52-inch mid-roof sleeper are available with the factory-installed Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine rated up to 400 hp and 1,450 lb-ft of torque. The Cummins Westport ISX12 G engine requires a single fuel source and can run on either CNG or LNG. The natural gas engine uses a maintenance-free, three-way catalyst and does not require a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank, diesel particulate filter (DPF) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology.

T800 (available in LNG)

For its LNG-powered T800, Kenworth uses a Dewar flask (or cyrogenic tank) system that is like a large Thermos® bottle inside a metal cylinder. The LNG fuel tank, which is designed to keep the fuel in its liquid state at minus 260 degrees Fahrenheit, can hold between 56 and 80 diesel gallon equivalent (DGE) gallons per tank. Kenworth’s T800 can be ordered in a gross combination weight (GCW) of up to 80,000 lb. for over-the-road operation with additional ratings exceeding 100,000 lbs. available for certain applications.

T880 (available in CNG and LNG)

Drive the iconic looking Kenworth T880 in either CNG or LNG. The natural gas option is ideal for Kenworth T880 dump trucks, mixer, refuse, pickup and delivery vehicles, and other applications operating with up to a maximum of 80,000-lb. gross combined vehicle weight (GCVW). Like the T680, the T880 day cab can be specified with the Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine. The ISX12 G is available with manual, automatic and Eaton UltraShift® Plus transmission options, including 10-speed LAS and 13-speed MHP series.
