CleanBC Initiative

The B.C. Government has allocated $1.4 million in funding annually, for up to three years for a new heavy-duty vehicle efficiency program through their CleanBC Initiative. The purpose of this program is to achieve legislated targets of
reducing greenhouse gas emissions of 40% below 2007 levels by 2030, 60% by 2040 and 80% by 2050. The BC Trucking Association (BCTA) in partnership with the BC Ministry of Transportation (MoTI)  have developed a program
to help reduce GHG emissions in heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The BCTA will be administering this program. The deadline for approval is March 31, 2020.

Receive up to a $10,000 incentive by speccing your new truck with these fuel-saving components

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible to receive an incentive, a Person must:

1. be a BC Heavy-Duty Transport Company
2. have at least one delegate participate and pass the free Efficiency Course on behalf of the company; and
3. have at least 1 heavy-duty transport vehicle (or motor coach) operating in British Columbia in that fiscal year (April 1 – March 31).

In any one fiscal year (April 1 – March 31), a person may not receive more than $10,000 per vehicle, to a total of $100,000 in incentives.

QUALIFYING EQUIPMENT 

Wide-based tires (445 or greater):

• 445 – 30% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $300 per tire
• 455 – 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $600 per tire

Aerodynamics:

• Side Skirts – 30% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of$2,000 per device
• Boat Tails – 30% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of$2,000 per device
• Full Fairings Wheel to Wheel – 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $2,000
• Plastic Flow Below Aero Kit – 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $1,000
• Engine/fuel modifications

Engine/Fuel Modifications:

• Automated/Automatic Transmission – up to 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $1,000 per device
• Predictive Cruise – up to 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $1,000 per device
• Engine Idle Shut Down Timer/Automatic Engine Start/Stop System – up to 50%of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $1,250 per device
• Driver Performance Assistance – up to 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $1,000 per device
• Hydrogen Fuel Enhancement System – up to 50% of the cost of the device and its installation, up to a cap of $4,000 per device
