Lloyd Parker founded Parker Pacific Industrial Equipment in 1949 to sell agricultural equipment in the interior of British Columbia. The following year, he was selling war surplus trucks from the United States, and seven years later he acquired his first Kenworth truck franchise. Expansion came briskly and by the end of the 60's the company grew to ten dealers under the Inland Kenworth banner. In 1973 Skagit Manufacturing in Langley was purchased and subsequently became Parker Pacific a welcomed addition to the Inland Group. This allowed us to become a distributor for construction, logging, and mining equipment. In 1985, Inland purchased the Kenworth distributorship for Southern California, and three years later purchased the dealership in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2000, Inland purchased the Kenworth distributorship in Albuquerque and Farmington, New Mexico. In 2002 Inland opened a new distributorship in Tucson, Arizona and moved the Los Angeles distributorship to Montebello, California. The Inland Group remains a family business today, with the founder's son Leigh N. Parker as Chairman, and Dick McConnachie as Chief Executive Officer.
